The mystery company which snapped up collapsed Glasgow-based fashion store chain Internacionale has been identified as an India-based multinational textile firm.
However, Agilo, which specialises in distressed companies and acquired Internacionale parent Ossian's £25m debt, yesterday said: "The purchaser is one of India's largest textile companies which, for corporate governance reasons, cannot be named at this time."
Of the 2255 people that were employed between Internacionale and sister company Au Naturale, 847 jobs were immediately saved with Internacionale's sale.
A further 14 Au Naturale stores have since been included in the sale, and another 500 jobs have been saved as part of a transfer to Internacionale. Au Naturale itself went into administration earlier last week.
